Hello Santa Maria, FFA members, my name is Maria Alvarez and I am currently a senior in high school. This year I will be serving as one of your secretaries for 2019-2020. This will be my 4th year of being in FFA, looking back at my high school experience it went by so fast. Being part of the Vegetable Crops Evaluation Team the past 3 years and traveling with the different teammates, that were all unique in their own way, was fun, nerve racking, but most of all life changing. Being in FFA has made me more aware to notice how I managed my time and prioritized my life when having to tend for my turkeys. But the past years not only has FFA been part of my life I also enjoyed playing video games with my brother, sister, and cousin as well as being my two year old niece’s play mate. In the end we all choose the role we want to play because this year WE CAN WE WILL choose our paths and be there for each other when maybe the path is too dusty to see where to step.
Maria Alvarez, Co-Secretary

What’s up FFA members! My name is Ruby Cruz and I am so excited to be serving as your 2019-2020 chapter secretary. I am a senior here at Santa Maria High School and will be going into my fourth year of being part of this amazing FFA chapter. Over these past few years, this chapter has offered me many great opportunities, I have had the chance to be part of the Soils and Land evaluation team, participate in many public speaking contests, attend leadership conferences, and help out around our community, all while having a good time and making new friends. On my free time, you can find me showing off some sick moves at the dance floor, singing at the top of my lungs at a karaoke machine, or just hanging out and enjoying nature. So if you see me around the school, come by and say “hi!” I'm always up for meeting new people. Can’t wait to meet you all so that WE CAN and WE WILL have an amazing year!
 Ruby Cruz, Co- Secretary

Greetings! My name is Odalys Martinez and this is my 3rd year in Ag. I’m currently a junior and I’m serving as your 2019-2020 Chapter Reporter. As a Sophomore, I got more involved in this organization! I participated in Opening and Closing and Impromptu, and had the opportunity to show Rabbits and Turkeys at the Santa Barbara County Fair! I made many choices as a sophomore and one of them was joining the Milk Quality and Dairy Judging Team. It was really worth it and now we are preparing to compete in nationals as State Champions! WE CAN and WE WILL give our best in our upcoming competition. Outside of FFA, I am very involved in school, church, and in my community. Some of the things I enjoy are playing my instruments, making/painting canvases, playing any sports for fun, and reading. I am very thankful for my parents, family, friends, and teachers that motivate me through their actions, words, and sacrifices. I hope to work together with you all in projects to come or see you all throughout the school year in our FFA events. Take challenges, Believe in yourself, and Grow!
